He has something better…

Soft steps. Soft heart. That's what today was about.

I left out of Ribadiso at dusk (7am) and under overcast skies. Got to walk a few kilometers before the rain came.

I was very mindful leaving town to walk with soft feet today. Easy steps, as there would be a lot of them today.

I arrived at Arzúa and saw a bar open with coffee and some pastries. I have been craving one of those croissant things with the ham and cheese. I felt off about going into this place but forged ahead anyway. The vibe was off in there. I ordered regular pastry and coffee and ate it hurriedly so as to move on. Wasn't the tastiest treats I've had on Camino.

I felt better immediately when I walked out. Said a prayer of protection over myself and continued down the way.

Don't you know, 200 meters past that bar I see a bright and airy cafe with many delicious pastries and even an image of a female pilgrim on the window that resembles the Blessed Mother!

I bet that place had my ham and cheese. Rats.

I do believe the Lord was speaking to me at the first stop, calling me to something better.

Isn't that always "the way"?

Tomorrow I complete my walk with a 21k day into Santiago de Compostela!!!

Prayer Request and Update

First, a prayer for a senior pilgrim who fell outside the place I'm staying today. I think she's bruised and scuffed up but in okay shape. The sidewalk outside is multi level, and not marked by paint. She tripped on an elevation change. Thanks for thinking of her in your prayers.

Update - the little girl that had brain surgery the other day did fantastic and has a great prognosis! Thank you for praying for her!

Love to you all, see you down the road! Greg

I'm making today's photo the image from the cafe. What say you? Female pilgrim (peregrina), or Blessed Mother?
